MEMORANDUM OF CONVERSATION WITH DR. PAUL BARTSCH:

Dr. Bartsch discussed with Dr. Merriam what he
considered the most important phases in the progress
of his cerion investigations and outlined a plan for
additional field work in the Bahamas to be undertaken
at some favorable time with the assistance of Mr. Mills
and the "Anton Dohrn." Dr. Merriam stated that he would
be glad to consider such plans with Dr. Bartsch at an
early date, but that it would be very desirable to bring
about a conference as soon as possible with Dr. Morgan,
Dr. Davenport, Dr. Crampton, and Dr. Bartsch for a thorough
discussion of all research problems which may have a common
interest. In order that Dr. Bartsch might continue
further anatomical studies of cerions, the President agreed
to recommend a second small allotment of $50 to Dr. Bartsch
for this work.
