I recieved your first & only letter some ten days ago which I was so
glad to get. I had written you [which?] letter I hope you recieved
a dull letter but it was from home and that gave it a welcome. if I
were only an agreeable scribbler I would write weekly to you and as
it is if I am only in the midst of your dear kin I would write
that frequently for I could write of them having so much [teenage?]
time upon hand I would with so much pleasure devote a por
tion to your gratification. About six weeks since I saw your sister
Florence for a few moments at the Hotel. I accidentally met her

Mrs [Turner?]] who wasstanding at the front door with a lady whom
she said is [Florence?]. I should not have recognized her. I have
never seen her since your messages- it is not to be supposed I
