We cut the whale and scraped the bone and sot the try works a gong and saw several whale and lowered the boats and went after them and Mr. Jones boat got there fast and tyhe line got foul and they had to cut. We chasded them a spell and found it was of no use to chase they any further and went a board and we saw another one and went after it but soon returned without it. 106 Remarks on board Friday the 11th. These 24 hours Commences with light winds and Calms [?] at 6 we began to ?stow the oil down and we saw a great many finbacks. At 10 we finished ?drying 107 Days out REmarks on board Saturday the 12. These 24 hours Commences with a pleasant breezs. We finished a stowing down the oil and scraped the decks. AM we saw a whale and lowered the boats and went after it and it was very shy and we couuld not strike it and we came [ILLUSTRATION in margin] Whale tail - 90 aboard and got breakfast and lowered the boats and Mr Jones boat got fast and soon killed it and got it along side of the ship and cut it in. 108 Days out

Remarks on board Tuesday the 15th. These 24 hours Commences with a Gale of wind and rain with some thunder and lightning. 11 Days out

Remarks on board Wedmesday the 16th og October 1822. These 24 hours Commences with more moderate. We loosed sail and it is foggy. 112 Days out

Remarks on board Thursday the 17th. These 24 hours Commences with a moderate Breeze and foggy. At 3 we saw a whale and lowered the boats and the Capts boat soon got fast. The whale run [ILLUSTRATION in margin] Wale tain - lost very bad so it took us some time before could kill it. It came on very foggy so that we lost sight of the ship We put a ?weft in the whale and left it. We soon found the ship. It rained very hard all night. AM called all hands and made sail to look for the whale. At 10 the wuind blows so hard so that we took in sail and have the ship to. 113 Days out

At 8 it began to thunder and lightning very hard so that they stopped the try works it rains very hard. At 1 Clear and pleasant. ?sot the ?fire to ?gong and loosed the foresail.
