REmarks on board Tuesday the 1st of October 1822.
These 24 hours Commences with high winds and
heavy sea. We finished stowing down and then
loosed the fore and mizen topsail and foresail
and jib and spanker and let one reef out of the
mainsail and then we scraped the
decks and killed a hog. AM light winds and
Calms. We saw several ?gramposes and a plenty

fast. At 10 called all hands and took
in sail and hove the ship to.

hours Commences with fresh breeze at day
light. Called all hands and made sail and at

Remarks on board Friday the 4th. These 24
hours Commences with with a gale. We took
in sail and hove the ship to. AM we saw
several whale. The weather's squally.

Remarks on boarde Saturday the 5th. These 24
hours Commences with with light winds
and cloudy with some rain. We saw a school
of black fis. We broke out the mizen hatch
and got up some corn. AM Clear and
pleasant. At 6 we saw a whale to the leaward
about a mile off. We hove a back and lowered
the boats and went after it and after
awhile Mr. Jones boat struck and the
whale run very bad so it took us some
time before we could kill her. We got it
along side of the ship and cut it in.
