Remarks on board Saturday the 21st of ?sept
these 24 hours Commences with moderate
weather. We called all hands and loosed Sail
and stood to the northward and westward.
The watch employed in making lance ?Worps
and sinnet. 87 Days out.

Remarks on board Sunday the 22nd. These 24
hours Commences with moderate weather.
We saw several right whales. Welowered
down the boats and after a long row the
Capt. boat struck but did not hold on
long. We chased them a while but found
it was no use to chase them. We went on
board and we saw another on our lea
beam and the mates lowered away went
after it but did not catch it and soon
returned to the ship. We killed a hog and
took in sail and at 12 ?ware ship. AM
called all hands and made sail. We struck
two porpoises but the iron tore out and
we lost them and at 8 we saw a right
whale and we kept the ship for it
but it was a going to the windward
very fast so that we did not go after it.
We saw several spouts to the leaward.
We kept a way for them and when we
had got about two miles of them we
lowered the boats and went after them
but they proved to be killers. The boats
soon returned to the ship and we hoisted
them up and stood to the south and westward.
There is several finbacks in sight
