Remarks on Board Sunday Sept 1st = 1822
These 24 hours Commences with fresh
Breze from South East with some squalls.
We saw a sail to the leaward and we run down
to her and it proved to be the ship South
america of Nantucket. West master
our Capt. went on and bought two ?spades
and gave three dollars apiece. Took in the jib
and spanker and reefed the topsails. A sail
on the weather beam. AM at daylight called
all hands and wash the decks and let the
reefs out of the topsails and losed the fore and
main topgallantsails and mainsail and jib
and spanker. A sail on our lee bow and another
on our lee beam we kept of for the one on the
bow. Course South. 67 Days out. ?VC

Remarks on Board Monday the 2nd. These
24 hours Commences with fresh Breze and
squally. We spoke the Ann Alexander of new
bedford and our Capt. went on board and got
two spades and a sheat of copper. We took in the
fore and main topgallantsails and reefed the fore
main and mizen topsails handed jib and spanker.
Growing squally took in the fore and mizen
topsail. AM all hands were called at day
light and loosed the fore and mizen topsails
amd loosed the mainsail. Course S by W.

Remarks on board Tuessdday the 3d of september.
These 24 hours Commences with fresh breze
from North and East. AM let one reef out of
the fore main and mizen topsails loosed the
main topgallantsail. The watch employed
in ?macking sinnet. ?VC Course SSW
