MARCH 3rd Month 1945

11 Sun-4th in Lent Mid-Lent Quite a nice day. Went to S. School in morning. A. Winnie ill so took primary. Went to S. School again in afternoon. Bruce came over from hospital in afternoon and evening. We all went to Chapel, also Geo Phang. Afternoon we all went in the Humphrey's for supper.

12 Mon Lovely day. Did not go to school as did not feel well. Stayed in bed in morning. Gordon came to see me. Helped Mummy in afternoon. Dave came in evening. We had a party. Bill, Ted, Betty, [Per] Slim, Joy Humphrey, Gordon came Had a good time.

13 Tues Gorgeous day. ?Bruce came from hospital for the day. Continued doing dogfish in biology. Did nothing in free lesson. Came home in afternoon and did homework. Took Kim for a walk. Messed about in evening. Went to bed early.

14 Wed- New Moon 3.51 a.m. Lovely day. Finished purse all but fasteners in art. Had records in singing and then had netball. Went for a long walk in dinner hour. Went to Girls Brigade in evening.

15 Th Bills day off. have current events. Lovely day. Did history in free lesson. Still doing dogfish in biology. Bruce & his navigater came to tea, also Bill. Did not go to [] Did H.W. Dave took class. Leslie[] Alan, Judy, Joan & a Corporal []

16 Fri Rather cold day. Had [] history test on India in morning. Said goodbye to Dave. He is going home to N.Z. Watched house hockey matches in afternoon. F/O Gilbert Ward came in to see us in evening. I washed my hair.

17 Sat--St. Patrick's Day Quite a nice day. Helped Mummy all the morning. Cleaned up and I did all vegetables. Did crossword and some digging in afternoon. Had a bath. Took Kim for a walk in evening and then read a book. Gordon came in after ops.

MARCH 3rd Month 1945

18 Passion Sun-5th in Lent Lovely day but very windy. Went to S. School morning and taught Primary. Went to S. School again in afternoon. Bill came in twice during day. Mummy & Daddy went to Littleport in evening. Janey & I stayed at home. Gordon came in.

19 Mon Very windy wet day. Still doing dogfish in biology. Wrote to Sheila in free lesson. Continued doing wallet in art. Finished writing to Sheila and did HW in evening. Bill came in and we had a sham fight. Leslie came in and cut Daddy hair. Listened to a play on wireless about Shakleton.

20 Tues- Moon's first quarter 7.11 p.m. Spring Equinox Deny's birthday I was forced to give my beloved Kim away to an Airman. Had lessons as usual in morning. Did French in free lesson. Came home in afternoon and did H.W. Gordon came to tea.

21 Wed First of Spring. Glorious day Got a lot of wallet done in art. Had nice singing lesson and lovely game of netball. Had notes in history.. Did gardening in evening. Did some of lawn. Went for a walk with Janet.

1945 31 Days MARCH

22 Th Gorgeous day. [] education in current events. Did scripture & history in free lessons. Dinished doing dogfish in biology. Did some work [] gardening in evening. Judy [] class. Gordon, Geo. Phang, Geo. G, Leslie, the Padre, Bob Smithson & Allan came.

23 Fri Gorgeous day. Had a discussion in scripture. Didn't do much in free lesson. Layed on grass watching final hockey matches in afternoon. Alan beat Knut 8 nill. Bill came in for a shoft time in evening. Went to Girls Brigade. Gordon came to supper.

* 24 Sat Lovely day, but windy. Helped Mummy all the morning. Cleaned bathroom and went to Sutton and did errands. Finished mowing the lawn in afternoon and did a little homework. George Phang took Daddy Janet & I to see Memo a play on the camp called The Cage. It wasn't extra good.

MARCH 3rd Month 1945

Bill's day off 25 Palm Sun-6th in Lent Lady Day Annunciation of B.V.M. Quarter Day Rather dull day. Went to S. School in morning and taught primary. Went to S. School in afternoon. Went to Chapel in evening. Gordon came with us. Went to bed early.

26 Mon Windy and wet all day. Did theory of frog in biology. Did history notes in free lessons. Started thonging wallet in art. All girls who take history went to party given by Miss Crawford and Mr & Mrs O'Hare. We had a lovely time. Geo Phang cycled there and back with me. Got coffee spilt down my dress

27 Tues Lovely day. Continued doing frog theory in biology. Just talked in free lessons. Came home in afternoon. Washed my dress and got the stain out. Afterwards went to Sutton Ironed my dress in evening and went to bed early.

28 Wed- Full Moon 5.44 p.m. Windy day Had no lessons in morning. Got all the autographs of form. Broke up at 12 o'clock Went to Auntie Winnie's in afternoon and helped with cooking for Lent
