A good day. Ben and Paul worked on tobacco land.

I got dinner and churned. Put ashes on the potatoes this evening. Went to Carries a few minutes this evening.

Josie made her silk waist to day. The preacher come to see Paul this morning.

A good day.

The men folks worked on tobacco land.

Josie washed.

I got dinner. Marvin carried Denia and I and Ren Worsham to Mr Jessie Worshams pond. I caught some minners. When I got home Josie had milked the cows and she got supper.

A good day. Ben finished his tobacco land to day now he is ready for rain.

Mrs Edmons come this morning and staid a few hours.

Alma Bennett come here last night. She made Paul two shirts to day. Josie and I both had a hand in the dinner.

We planted two rows of tomatoes this evening.

I got one doz aster plants today. Effie Brumfield sent them from Richmond.

A good day. Ben went to Stevin Davis s to day and got a sack of ferterlizer. Finished Pauls tobacco land. He plowed in the garden and planted corn in the bottom. Josie and I planted pea nuts. I planted some Irish potatoes. Josie got dinner. Alma Bennett made Edna a dress this evening.

Ben carried Alma to Johnson Reynolds to night. Paul and Henry and Josie all went. I washed dishes while they were gone.

A good day. Ben & Owen worked on their tobacco land. Jim plowed some in the garden.

Bettie Rosser washed.

Mary and Mintie and I and Edna & Henry went to Johnsons. Nannie Kate Reynols & her baby come over there.

Josie baked some pies for dinner. I cut salit.

I went to Renan. Paid Lewis what I owed him. Bought some prunes & candy.

My shoes that Josie ordered come. I got a little check interest on my bonds.

A good day. There was frost this morning.

The men folks worked on their tobacco land all day.

Josie ironed some. I put eggs under two hens.

Jim planted some tomato plants right at night.

Roy and Paul has bin here all the evening.

Marvin & Carrie and three of the children went to Altavista this evening. I guess Kate & Virginia Harvey went with them. Mr & Mrs Pagget passed here this evening.

Josie scraped the grass out of the walke way to the front gate walk.

Well I will quit. I went to sleep before I finished.

A cloudy day most all day. Mr Owen plowed most of the Jim & Ben hauled straw and [?] Jims potato patch then worked on the tobacco land. Jim and I planted some onions this evening.

Josie got dinner--most of it. Denia & Corrdie come this evening. Josie and Cordie ordered some flower seed & bulbs. Carrie and the children come this evening. Jim Emerson passed going down the way.

Ben has a bad colde & is very much complaining.

A clear windy day. Some rain last night. The men folks worked on their tobacco land all day. Mr Robert Vaden and Smith of Gretna was here today. They wanted the use of the school house for a speakin Sat night.

Josie and I both had a hand in gettin dinner.

This evenin I went to Mr Owens. Mrs Dews was there. I come home and Josie and the children all went to Marvins. Carrie showed us her new things that she got at Altavista. Marvin had made him a hot bed. Mr Owen made one this evening.

A good day. The men folks worked on tobacco land most of the day. Late this evening they planted some tobacco but it is so colde that things cant grow.

Mrs. Owen and I drawed plants. I got so colde that I quit and come to the house.

Josie and I washed some this morning. Josie got dinner.

Janie Brumfield and Delma Owen come to see the children this evening.

I started Julia Fergerson a letter to day.

I am so near a sleep that I cant hardly write.

The children found my Lady cow with a nice little calf.

A cloudy day and rain tonight. The men worked on their tobacco land most of the day. Ben went to the meeting of the school board late this evening.

Josie got dinner. This evening I went to Johnsons. Mollie & Christenia was at home. Mrs Yeats went from Posies this evening. Nannies baby is not well.

A good day. The men worked on tobacco land until twelve. Ben went to Gretna to meet Nellie Brumfield. Franklin & I went with him.

Irvin Lewis carried my calf to Gretna this morning. Henry Blair was up there.

A beautiful day. Jim and Ben tobacco land all day. Josie and I washed this morning. Josie got dinner this evening.

Mrs Car and I and Edna and Reese Smith went to White Falls. Mrs Car and I fished a little. By the kindness of Marvin and Carrie I got to go. They are very good to me. Mrs Car and I stoped at Mount Airy and Renan. I paid up for the phone this evening.

Edna has come to go to bed.

A cloudy day and some rain. Jim & Ben worked on their tobacco land.

Josie ironed some. We both got the dinner. I went to the plant bed and got salit for dinner.

Christenia Reynols & Doris Brumfield come a while this evening. I am afraid they got wet before they got home.

I wanted to go to Marvins but went to the kitchen and sowed some. It is raining hard now.

A good day. Ben & Jim fixed tobacco land this morning and planted tobacco this evening. Henry and Edna dropped plants.

Josie and I washed this morning. We had a big washing.

Denia Blair come to see us this evening. I was very glad that she come.

Mollie invited me to spend the day with her. I could not go as we had commenced to wash.

Heard that Fanny Emerson is married to Dews Leneir. I wish the childe well.

A good day. Ben & Jim worked on their tobacco land all day. Josie scrubed floors and got dinner. Kate Harvey & Carrie Smith come to see us this evening. I was not at home. Reese Smith carried Grace Brumfield and I to Mr Worshams pond. We fished. Caught a few. Had a pleasant day. Come by Renan. Clack Hubbards baby was sick. Dr Owen was gone to Chatham.

Ben did not like for Henry to go with me. Said he wanted him to work. I am sorry to ever do any thing that makes him mad. An old hen killed one of Josies turkeys. I am very sorry that it happen.

A cloudy day and rain tonight. Ben and Jim and Owen fixed some of Bens tobacco land ready to plant today. Josie got dinner and ironed some this morning. Carrie come down here this evening. They cut out a dress for me and got it nearly ready to wear. I went to Johnson Reynols this morning. Mrs Cook & Mrs Lumpkin was there. Mrs Cook has a cut foot. The surveyer run the line for the road today.

A cloudy day. No rain. The boys worked on tobacco land all day. We had a shower last night. It was badly needed. Josie ironed most of the morning. She made pies for dinner. This evening Marvin carried Josie and three children and Carrie and three children to the school house. Dr. Caton and his assistants were there to exzamine the children. There was a crowd to be examined.

A good day. Very cool. The men worked on the tobacco land all day except Ben. He went to Johnson Reynolds and paid for the guano and got a bushel of wheat and a bushel of cracked peas for the chickens and three bushels of peas to sow. Josie got dinner this evening. She went to Mr Owens. I washed a little this morning and went to Marvins a few minutes. Kate Harvey was there and Charles. He carried his mother home. 9 oclock

A good day. The men worked on their tobacco land. Josie staid at home and got dinner. This evening she went to Marvins. Marvin let Reese thak [take] me fishing. We went to Mr Jessie Worshams pond. Did not catch any thing. Come to the creek and fished a while. Did not catch any thing. I bought 10 pounds of sugar from Oscar Booker. Paid 30 cts a bushel of meal for $2.25. 9 oclock

Cloudy but no rain to do any good. The men folks worked on their tobacco land. Josie done a big washing by twelve oclock. I got dinner. Henry kept Mabel. Josie sewed some this evening. Carrie and the children come a while this evening. Josie and I wrote a letter and the carrier did not take them up. 8 oclock Ben & Jim planted water mellon seed to day.

A beautiful day. The men fixed tobacco land all day. Josie baked a cake this morning. We cooked rice and fried meat, made coffee, & baked bread. This evening Josie bathed all the children, cleaned up the dining room, moved the carpet off the floor. I went to Kate Harveys and Mollie Reynolds and Carries. I saw Lee Brumfield and several others. I have gone to sleep and bot[?]ed my book.

A beautiful day. Ben & Jim worked on their tobacco land. Henry went to Renan. Josie and I ironed all the morning. Mrs Car churned. Josie got dinner in 30 minutes. She had caned sausage made a dewberry pie had caned tomatoes boiled 14 egg made bread and coffee. Kate Harvey come & Carrie and all children. I was glad to see all of them. Kate & I worked button holes. Kate brought some sallit.

A good day Ben & Jim finished the ditch and cleaned out the springhouse. Jim plowed this evening. Ben worked on his car a little. Josie baked a cake this morning. Together we got dinner then I went to Reynols's. Bruce is at home. He brought Mollie some of the nices candy I most ever saw.

Christenia was colering eggs for Easter. Johnson was fixing his tobacco land. Jim set one turkey today. Hope that the others will set soon.

Josie has lein sick all day. Mollie Reynolds come a while this evening. I was glad she come. I milked to night. Fanny Power made bread and coffee for supper. I had a letter from Carrie Smith to day. I wish I could hear from them every day

A good day. Jim & Ben have worked on Tobacco land today. Frannie Power was here. This morning also a man by the name of Lony. his car went […] on him and he could not get it to go so he come and ask to stay alright he got it fixed some time today. Josie & Franny went and got some […] for Dinner. I have worked more in the garden today than any time this year and felt as well as usual.

Mrs Kent come she brought us some nice cabbage she wanted to swap some eggs. Isla + Cordie Blair come to See us this evening. I was glad they came. Mabel has bin good today for her to be. Fannie made Mabel a Dress to day a pink gingham she is proud of it. After supper to night Mrs Cor + Ella Hubbard + Ron Hubbard come to see Posie. I am glad that they came to see her

A good day. The men folk worked on tobacco land all day Mrs. [Car-?] and Ela spent the day with Josie. Mr Sam Hubbard came for Ella. Miss Anna and little [Louise?] Hubbard came with him. Miss Anna brought Josie some light bread. Mollie Reynolds came late this evening we had the cabbag that Mrs Kent brought and lettice and ham for dinner. I got a letter from Carrie today. I am always glad to hear from her.

A good day. The boys worked on their Tobacco land all day I planted some potatoe slips Today Josie & fanny got dinner. They killed chickens and cooked cabbage. Hattie Gilbert & Louis washed here today. Mrs Hutcherson & mrs Evylin Hutcherso & Ada Hutcherso was here this evening. They were on mrs Hutcherson's car. Ada was driving the car. I was glad that they come. Evylin's baby is a fine fellow. Henry & Edna went to school.

A good day. The men worked on their tobacco land hauling manure and plowing. The children went to school. Mabel went with them to the field twice. I have bin busy most of the day. I baked sweet potatoe pies for dinner. Mrs. Ruth Booker come to see me today. I was glad that she come. I had thought maybe because I am old and am not fashionable that none of the would come. I heard to day that Marvin Smith was sick and several of the children was sick. I am asleep.

A good day. The men worked on their tobacco land most of the day. Oh how I wist we could have rain. I have felt bad all day. Guess walking up to Renan had something to do with my bad feelings. I have bin busy all day. Cleaned up the chickens coop. I gathered a few strawberries today. The first that has ripened this spring. Lelia Ward sent me some salit for dinner. I fried some pies this morning. Ben is very much comnplaining tonight. He has a very bad colde. Jim had a letter from Nellie today.
