A good day. Very warm for Nov. Jim stripped tobacco all day and tonight. Henry went to the barn tonight. Ben went to Danville yesterday. He has just come home tonight. He solde tobacco today. Solde very well for what it was. So sorry. Josie ironed a big pile of clothes today and raked on the yard some. I got dinner. I churned. This evening I went to Marvins. I guess they will call the baby Julia. I am glad of it. Mabel has bin good today for her to be. All of the rest of the children went to school.
A cloudy day & some rain. We all was at home until after dinner. Josie and I got dinner. I killed and dressed two chickens and fried them. Josie baked some pies. I churned this evening. Jim went to see John Hutchersons hogs. Met up with Mr Jess[?] & Willie Hutcherson and Will Alen and spent the evening walking and talking. Henry B went to Dr Owens. He rode Jake, Bens horse. The [?] broke and Henry fell off. It did not hurt him. Ben & Josie, Edna & Franklin and Mabel and I went to Marvins. They were all well. One of the turkeys is sick and I expect it will die.
A good day and warm. There was a rain bow was in the clouds this morning. It has rained a little tonight. Ben & Jim shucked some corn. Then they comence to cover the shed. Riped off the shingles. Josie ironed some this morning. I churned & killed a chicken. We cooked some parships the first time this fall. Kate Harvey come and brought us some salit. Reese Smith carried me to White Falls. I caught several fish. Paul Smith caught two fish. We come back by Renan store. Jim Thomson and family was there. Four of Mag Brumfield children was at the store. They all looked well. Mr Meguary[?]was here this morning. We bought a few things from him.
A clear windy day. Jim & Ben cut wood, Owen plowed. The children went to school. Josie ironed some and cut a dress out for her self.
I got dinner & churned.
Johnson Reynolds come by here, wanted to see the boys a bout selling guano.
I got a letter from Evylin Brumfield to day. 8 30 oclock
A cloudy day. The boys could not do much work. Kate come down here. She wanted to see Jim & Ben on business.
Josie got dinner. She baked some nice corn bread.
I sowed on my quilt. I got breakfast and milked and fed the chickens and churned.
Tonight Jim & Ben has gone to Renan. The children went to school.9 oclock
A very disagreeable day. The men folks hauled wood. Jim made a fire & filled up the pot for me to wash. I was glad of the help that was.Josie got dinner. I washed some & killed a hen for dinner tomorrow. Josie churned for me this morning.
Henry has gone to Marvin's to play Rook,all the rest has gone to bed except Jim & I.
A very bad day. Rained all day. The worst we have had yet. [?] could not do anything out of doors. They shucked a little corn. Josie got dinner. I churned and sewed on my quilt. The children went to school. They got wet comeing home. Ben met them at Mr. Hutcherson. [?] oclock
A good day. Ben & Jim raked in their new ground. Henry & Edna went to school. Josie got dinner. I washed some this morning. After dinner I churned then went to George Blairs. Found them well & busy. Josie got a package from Sears & Roebuk this evening.
A cloudy all day & rain this evening. Jim & Ben cut wood til noon. Ben helped Marvin kill hog. Henry went to school. The baby is bad off with colde. I think the other children are some better off. To day was a holiday. We did not get any mail. We miss it. I ironed some today & Josie ironed some. I churned. We both got dinner. Josie baked some nice tea cakes.
A very bad day. The wind is bowing tonight and the weather is colde. Jim helped Marvin shuck some corn. This evening Jim & Ben went to Renan. There was no one at the store. Josie got dinner and milked. I churned. I have not bin out much to day. All of us are as well as usual.
Clear windy & colde. Jim and Ben rumbled a round this morning. This evening they went to Marvins. Josie & I staid at home all day. Josie got dinner. She baked one of the nicest cakes yesterday that I ever saw. I helped some today. Josie milked. I churned & wash dishes. Helpe to attend the baby.
A good day. The men folks sawed wood for Owen & commenced for Marvin. Josie got dinner. I got breakfast & milked the cows and churned then went to George Blairs. I had a good day. Isla was not at home. I missed her. They were all busy. Mrs Hutcherson went to see Mrs Allen this evening. I got a letter from Effie Brumfield this evening.

A good day. Jim plowed in the new ground. Mr Owen plowed with two horses. Josie got dinner. I got breakfast & milked and churned. I made two pots of soup. I cut some salit for tomorrow. Carie come & cut some for her self. I cut Kate a mess & Reese carried it to her. Henry & Edna went to school. Ben borrowed John Hutchersons boots & ditched some this evening. Tonight Ben & Jim & Marvin has all gone to Strait Stone.
A bright cool day. Jim & Owen worked on the land to get it ready to plant. Josie ironed this morning. I got a snack for dinner. I milked and churned and fed the chickens & dressed a hen for dinner [?] tomorrow at dinner. I got Ben to take me & the children to White Falls. We caught a few fish. Kate Harvey come while I was gone. I was sorry not to see her. Charles Harvey come by this evening.
Rain this morning and a little this evening. Clear tonight. Ben carried Jim to Chatham. Carried caned fruit and lard. Ben get home before dark. Josie ironed some and got dinner. I milked and churned and went to the plant bed for salit. I went to Carries a few minutes this evening. Edna & Franklin went to Mr. Edmonds to play with Franklin Edmond.
A good day. Ben finished planting corn and fixed some land for water mellons seed. Jim draged his new ground. He had one of Marvins horses. Josie done a big washing and sewed this evening. I got dinner and churned this evening. I worked a few gourd plants and pulled dirt in the ice house hole. Went to Larries a few minutes then went to the plant bed for salit.
A clear cool day. There was frost this morning. Enough to bite tender things. The boys finished hilling [?] up Jims new ground. Jim planted some potato slips this evening. Josie got dinner. A rainy morning. We were all so glad. Quit raining and they planted tobacco. Irvin Hardey helped them for plants. I got breakfast & milked and fed the chickens then churned and fixed up the butter. Josie & I got dinner. I cooked some onions. The first we have cooked this year. I drawed plants all the evening. 9 oclock
A good day. The boys planted some tobacco today and plowed some. Josie and I got dinner. I churned this evening. I went to Marvins. Got some bean seed and some butter beans. I planted the beans and gave the butter beans to Mrs Owen. Today is Lizzie Bennetts birth day. Henry & Edna droped plants. Henry pulled off my shoes tonight for me. 9 oclock
A good day. Jim & Ben & Owens plowed corn. Josie and got dinner and churned. After dinner Edna and I went to try and get some straw berries. We got a few. Kate Harvey come while I was gone. Marvin & Carrie and the girls went to Altavista. Paul and Roy staid here. Reese plowed. 9 oclock
A good day. We need rain so bad. Jim staid a bout home and worked tobacco some. Ben carried Josie and all the children except Henry to Jim Powers. I got dinner and churned. I went with Ben to Powers this evening. Mrs Car was not there. Max was there. Mrs Epperson/Efferson[?] and several of her children was there. 9 oclock
A good day. Ben and Jim finished plowing their corn for this year. They plowed tobacco the [?] of the day. Josie washed a little and ironed some and baked a cake and bathed the children. I got breakfast and milked the cows. Brough the milk from the spring and churned, gathered some snaps, got some potatoes and [?] them and cooked them, dress 4 chickens. Went to Marvins and helped Carrie dress 4 chickens. They are fixin for a dinner at Strait Stone tomorrow. 9 oclock [Written upside down above the date: We hope that Franklin is getting on ok. A good cool day. Ben & Jim topped tobacco. Josie got dinner. I churned and cut the cucumber for pickle. This evening Josie commenced her a dress and went to Carries a little while. I picked a bucket of baries. I went to Mr Owens. His baby is sick. I am sorrie for them & the baby. I dont know what is the matter with him. Marvin went to Strait Stone to preaching. 9 oclock
A good day. Jim & Ben topped tobacco all day. Josie ironed some this morning and got dinner. I milked & churned & cut the cucumbers for pickle. This evening we all went to Marvins. He had bin to Altavista and brought ice. We had all the cream that we could eat. We certainly did enjoy it. To night Marvin and Carrie has gone to preaching. To night William [?] is keeping the children. 9:30 oclock
A good day. Ben worked on his car the most of the day. Jim fired tobacco all day. Josie got dinner. I got the breakfast and milked the cows and churned. I cut cucumber and put them in brine. I gathered some butter beans and corn for dinner. This evening I went to Union Grove to preaching. Reese carried his mother and I. When I come home I milked the cows and eat supper and went to Marvins. He carried me and Carrie to Mr Allens to preaching.
Cloudy most of the day and a hard rain this evening. The men worked in the tobacco when they could work. Josie got dinner. I washed dishes and churned. I dressed three chickens this evening. The association commence at Ricevill today. Cordie Blair come to see us this evening. She brough some beautiful dalahs all colors. I was very glad that she come. 8:35 oclock
A cloudy all day. Rain tonight. The men cut tobacco all day. Ben & Owen will stay at the barn. Josie caned some tomatoes this morning and made preserves and catchsup. She got most of the dinner. I milked and churned and kept busy most of the day. Miss Willie Wooding come a little while. Henry & Ben went hunting last night. Did not catch anything.
A good day. Jim staid at the barn. Ben & Henry helped Marvin cut tobacco. They finished cutting William Gilberts. Josie and I got dinner. I churned. Josie picked up some apples and went to Carries a little while. Carrie come here a few minutes. Had the little girls with her. 8 oclock
Edna got up when I did at 4 oclock.
A good day. Ben fired tobacco. Jim went to Chatham. Marvin carried him a part of the way. Josie ironed some and got dinner. I picked some peas and killed a chcken and churned. This evening Hugh Brumfield and Henry Brumfield and I went to White Falls fishing. We did not catch many fish. Kate Harvey come while I was gone.
A rainy day and colde. Ben did not come home. He phoned he would come tomorrow. James stripped tobacco. I ironed most of the day. I churned this evening. I baked a pumpkin for dinner. Henry went to school. Edna & Franklin fussed most of the day. Heard to night that a house burned at Gretna tonight. I am about asleep.
