[postscript] Ought not Mr Stiff to cheque the fittings &c by the Inventory & see that the repairs are all right?

Furlong Tring 5 Oct

Dear Mr. Vaisey.

I went to Blkh. yesterday and asked for the inventory of fittings fixtures - giving notice I was going so to do in order to take them over. After waiting a considerable I was told the Mr. Hylton who does our part of the concern was away & they could not be found.

I saw Mr. Harrison and he told me the inventory had been sent by him to his solicitor to be forwarded to you - so I concluded you would get it. Consequently I came back and have not taken over the inventory. I hardly know what to do about it for I shall not go to Blkhth. again till Tuesday and then it will be to receive

a lot of furniture. Surely we ought to agree fittings &c with Inventory before paying for them. I also enclose a letter from Dyer Valuer fixing the amount at 46 £ 11/-- Are we to pay our share of Dyer Bill to Mr. Harrison's solicitor? The amount is £1..12..10d, making with the other £ 48 - 3..10. Yrs truly

Dear Sir,

It is not usual to send the Inventory Valuation until the cheque is received but as you wish it we enclose the same. Kindly send us a cheque per return & your undertaking to procure the assignment of lease to be executed by Col. Bray

Yours truly Munns & Longden

yesterday morning. I have written to him by this post to tell him to meet me at 2 o/k {o clock} at the house tomorrow to see what repairs are necessary and to go over the list should I be possessed of it. If you have not got the list perhaps Mr. Stiff could go & fetch it if you will write by tonights post & tell him where it is to be had & he

can bring it to Blkheath to me. Will you tell us whether we are to pay the cheque to you or to Mr Harrison for fittings?--and whether it is to be paid before going over the list & seeing the items are correct and which amount is to be paid. I have written Mr. Dyer's cheque for our moiety.

Yrs sincly
