Quantico, Virginia. October 3, 1942.
Dear Mr. Barclay:
I haven't had much of a chance to write to you since I came back here eleven weeks ago. The First ten weeks were a real workout, and all of us are really glad to now be [?] - and as the bank says "gentlemen." Beckham and Kennedy left Quantico the day I was com missioned, Beckham to go to New River, North Carolina, and Kennedy directly to the south Pacific. I will be through here about the middle of Decemeber, and hope to have a few days of extended leave before they send me out of the country. me at that time. Some time, at your con venience, would you please fill out the enclosed blank, and sent it on to the appointment service. I might need it after the war some time. Thanks a lot.
I almost wish I was returning to school this fall, but that easy life is not for me for the present. Wish I were there to talk over old times with you. Give my regards to the few remaining old timers there at school.
Best of luck to you this year - and I hope to see you before too long.
Sincerely,
Ken Sayre.
