Donald B. Tresidder President Stanford University, California
Dear Sir,
Was quite interested in your letter asking for comments on Stanford's post-war program. Don't know that I can add anything to what you probably already have in mind, but think that as a preparation for a business career in the future, languages will be much more important than formerly with the shortening of distance by air travel. [Aviation?] will of course be of great importance, from both the engineering and economic standpoints.
Also in business the work of the so-called "analyst" will be more and more recognized. As a Statistical Control Officer in the Air Force the great work accomplished by this group of men has been brought sharply to my attention. Messrs. [Sam?] Smith and Frank [Shallenberger?], both of Stanford and now on the facilty of the Harvard Business

School, have both had a great [bit?] to do with the success of the Air Forces Statistical program, and I am sure would be willing to give the details of the program to Stanford if or when security permits.
Since I may stay in aviation after the war in the field of analysis, any [more?] ideas developed at Stanford along this line would be of great interest.
Yours Sincerely, Lt. [Leslie?] [M.?] Weeks
