13 April Pleasant and spring like -- Worked in shop. Farmers ploughing for oats. Roads muddy. David Scott was here
14 A beautiful day -- Fixed up yard -- planted parsnips & Beets -- Burned sturnips(?) - Moody moved -- New Board met at Alms House
15 Rain -- Heard of the suicide of Wm Stalcup. Milly got letter from Ann Chandler - Clears up in afternoon.
16 Surveyed for David Scott - Laid off 10 acres & road for Dana Scott of Davd also a triangle for John Sentman Pleasant day

Saturday April 17th 1852
Went with Milly & took carpet stuff to Miss Kirby near Brick Meeting House -- Miss Nancy quite talkative - Showed her flowers - said she would have the carpet woven by last of May. Roads very muddy - saw a num ber of fish wagons - Milly took much interest in viewing the places with which she had been familiar in her early days - Stopped at Mr. Warburton's and got some onion & tomato seed- planted them in the evening
---18 Sunday Cold & stormy, rained at night & wind blew hard -- Went to see Miss Billington --

19th Monday
Rained all day -- wrote 4 deeds for Scott & Tweed. Ground full of water and spring very backward
--- 20 -- Went to Elkton to meet Scott -- rained lightly all day -- sent letter to D.J. Received letter from Connely(?) Took dinner with Mother & Martha. Scott did not meet me -- Called at Register office to see acct of T. P. Morrison estate--Sheriff sent two letters with fee bills to Levis & Mr. Harland. Walked home through rain
21 Rain as usual -- worked in shop -- Jno Robinson came after wheel & left plow.

Clears up -- Rachel began to plough lot for Corn. I went to Saml Hanna's in afternoon to measure wagon Amos Evan's black boy died -
23rd Worked at cleaning up lot and in shop in fore noon Clear and cool -- Slight snow at noon -- David Scott called for his Deeds at noon. In afternoon work at fencing school house yard -
24 Saturday Turned Hubs for Saml Hanna's wagon. Assisted in fencing school house yeard in after noon. Mrs Harlan delivered 268 ft of poplar boards - Received a letter from Danl J.

April 25 1852 Sunday
Took Milly and Mrs Price to (__) P. Morris's -- walked around the old "Miller Farm" Went and viewed the site of the old house where Mother was born, and the old spring that furnished the house with water. Went over to see a lot of fine wheat on the Lowry Farm - Saw John Grant & Saml Miller there the wheat had 300 lb guano per acre - Lot 10 acres - 3000 lb guano - 20 bushels of seed The old stone house where I was born looked quite natural the pine tree is still living but the poplars are in decay Part of the old apple orchard remain ing - This is the most pleasant evening for a month past
