Monday July 4, 1921
A good hot day. I was at Faber Jeffersons in Charloot County. The Bennett boys went to the red house to a base ball. Lizzie and Ola and I did not go. Alma went this evening. We started from the red house a bout 5 oclock. I got home a bout sundown.
Nellie & Jim was here when I got home. Josie had supper done and had milked.
Tonight Ben & family except the baby went to Strait Stone to see a picture show. The baby staid a wake until they got home. I am glad I am at home a gain. Next time I go I want to go fishing.
Sunday July 17, 1921
A good day. John went away this morning. Hope he got home ok.
We all staid at home for dinner. George Blair come a little while. He carried Fanny for spin and come back and then went to Mr Farmers for Isla. Ben went with us to Marvins then come home and carried Josie & Fannie & Julia and Edna to Piney Grove to preaching. I have just put Mabel in her bed. Henry and Franklin has gone up stairs to bed. I am tiered. It is hard to have to wait on folks that care nothing but a good time at some one else expence.
Tuesday July 19, 1921
A good day. We need rain very bad. Jim plowed some this morning. Ben went to Richard Woodings and helped top his tobacco & thin corn. Richard is in a hospittle. There was some 7 or 8 men to help.
Josie washed a big washing this morning. This evening Ben & Josie & Fannie & Julia, Edna & Franklin & Mabel all went to the store. Tonight Ben & Josie and Fannie and Julia has all gone to Piny Grove to preaching.
I went to Marvins a few minutes. I lost my glasses this evening. We had I put them in a book and Henry carried them up stairs. Mr John Smith and part of his family come to Marvins this evening.
Sunday July 24, 1921
A good day. Ben and Josie, Julia, Edna & Franklin and Mabel went to Rob Hubbards to spend the day. This evening Ben & Josie & Rob & Ella went to the Bruce place in Charlott Co. They went to look at the beautiful grounds.
I staid at home & fed the chickens and washed dishes and churned. I eat dinner by myself to day. Then I went to Marvins this evening. They did not have any company.
Monday July 25, 1921
A good day. Clouds about but no rain here. Jim & Ben worked on their tobacco un til noon. Ben & Jim and Josie and Mabel went to three stores hunting bolts for a waggon body. To night Ben & Jim & Henry went to the school house to a speaking. Josie & I got dinner. I cut quilt peices this evening.
Henry and I cleaned up the olde stable where the chicken stais. Edna & Franklin went to Marvins a while this evening.
Julia has bin hemstichen on a peic for a ruffle. She gets on well for her first.
