A cloudy day and raining to night. The men folks cut until twelve then Jim & Ben hauled some stalks and corn.
Josie & Ben and Franklin went to Jim Powers. Henry & I staid at home all the morning then Henry went to Marvins and I went to Owens.
To night Ben & Marvin has gone to the lodge at Strait Stone I know they will get wet. Josie says she has never seen the roads as bad as they were today. Reese Smith has bought him a bycicle.
Johnson Reynolds has gone to Norfork to see Julia Fergerson. I feel like I know how glad she will be to see him. I hope he will see John B.

Saturday, March 29, 1919
A bright cool day. Ben sawed wood for Mr Peak. Jim set up wood in the woods. Mr Owen plowed. Josie got dinner. I set by the fire.
Reese & Paul Smith come and ask Ben to cut their hair. Gladis Brumfield and Myrtle Shelton come and got some flowers.
Ben put a yoke on the cow this evening. I hope she wont kill her self with it.

Saturday, April 19, 1919
A beautiful day. Ben & Josie & Jim went to Chatham. Ben & Josie got home a bout night. Jim staid up there.
Henry & Edna and I said[sic] at home until twelve. Eat our dinner & then went to Marvins. Marvin carried Reese & Henry and I to White Falls. We caught a fish a piece. They would not bite. Odie and Lottie Kellie and Elsie East was there.
Mrs Johnson come down there where I was a few minutes. There was plenty of frost this mornin.

Sunday, May 25, 1919
A good day. Jim come home this evening. Ben went to meet him.
Posie & Nannie and Mollie Reynolds come this evening. I was at Marvins. Kate Harvey was there.
Josie staid at home all day.
Reese and Hazel Smith is sick. I do hope that they will soon get well.
Paul Bennett & Earl was at Marvins to day.

Saturday, May 31, 1919
A good day. Jim & Ben worked on the tobacco until they finished.
Josie baked a cake this morning and made a few preserves. I dressed 4 chickens and capped a few berries. This evening Josie scrubed the dining room floor.
Marvin very kindly let Paul Bennett carrie Reese & Paul and Roy and I to White Falls fishing. We caught several fish. I was so glad that Marvin helped us to go.
