A clear day we need rain so bad.
Ben worked tobacco half of the day then cut wheat for Marvin this evening.
Josie got dinner. I churned and then worked the sweet potatoes and pea nuts
This evening I got up some of the onions.
Josie sewed all the evening. Carrie got Hazels pictures to day. She is not pleased with them. I am anxious to see them.

Friday, September 19, 1919
A good day. The men folks stripped tobacco most of the day. Ben went to see some of the teachers.
Josie & I got dinner. Old man Sam C[a?]llens was buried this evening. We have knowed him ever since we lived in this neighborhood.
Marvin & family went to Chatham this evening. They had the childrens pictures made.
Heard that my brother is improving. Hope he may get well a gain.
Miss Alice Wooding sent me some seed corn by Ben this evening. Hope I may live and be able to plant it.

Friday, October 17, 1919
Cloudy all day. Rain tonight. Ben went to Gretna. Went on Mr Dews car. Marvin & Owen went. Jim was at Gretna. They solde tobacco there today.
Carrie and the little children come down here and eat dinner with us. I am glad that they come. Carries childrens pictures come today.
Ben went to Kellies and brought the cow home today.
Carrie sent us some beef tonight.
I washed a little this morning and part of the clothes is on the line takeing the rain.

Tuesday May 24, 1921
A cloudy day and rained enough for a season. The boys planted tobacco. This evening the children dropped plants. Mabel fretted for Edna. Josie made Franklin a little suit to day.
An agent come here today and is at Marvins tonight. He is enlarging pictures.
We all staid at home to day.
