A good day most of the day. Had a little rain this evening. Ben and Paul still working tobacco. Josie ironed. I got dinner. I planted some cucumber and pumpkin seed.

Josie and Ben went to Strait Stone this evening and got some things. Among them were 4 tin buckets.

Mr Dave Layne and his son [ink smear] Walter and got a cow [smear] and calf.

Edna and Franklin are sick. If anyone wonders why this page is so blotted, I went to sleep.

A good day.

Ben and Paul worked tobacco all day. I washed a little this morning. Josie churned and got dinner. Baked a cake. This evening she washed the dining room floor.

George Worsham come here this evening assessing property. I planted sunflower seed this evening.

Tonight Ben has gone to Marvins to try and mend the freezer. Hope he can get it mended.

A clear day we need rain so bad.

Ben worked tobacco half of the day then cut wheat for Marvin this evening.

Josie got dinner. I churned and then worked the sweet potatoes and pea nuts

This evening I got up some of the onions.

Josie sewed all the evening. Carrie got Hazels pictures to day. She is not pleased with them. I am anxious to see them.

Clear most of the day a sprinkle of rain this evening. The men finished workin over their tobacco to day and cut some wheat.

Josie and [I] washed to day and then got dinner.

Josie and I and the children went to Marvins this evening. Ben and Josie and Paul Bennett went to Mount Airy to night to an ice cream supper.

Nat Woodings car broke down to day he was at Mr Edmons. Ben let him have his to make his round on. He brought it back be fore night.

A very cool day for May. We begin to need rain.

Ben & Jim & Henry worked tobacco all day. Mr John Baily eat dinner here to day. Ben & Jim & Henry has gone to the school house to night. A patrons meeting.

Josie ironed this morning. This evening she went to Marvins. Nettie Blair & Doris Brumfield and Ada Hutcherson come here this evening. Doris wanted water mellon seed.

We heard to day that Mrs Lucie Peak started to the hospitle at Roanoke.

I am glad that Franklin is a most well a gain.
