Saturday, April 26, 1919
A clear cool day. There was plenty of frost this morning. In some places the land was frozen. Jim & Owen fixed some land for a sweet potato patch. Ben went to Chalk Level this morning for some work that Sam Switz done for him. Worked the balance of the day on Jim Emersons car and did not get it so he could use it. Jim Emerson & Jim Brumfield and Lucius Gravely and Ben has gone to Strait Stone to night.
Josie cooked butter beans and little white beans and baked a cake and fried some fresh fish for dinner. I ironed a few things this morning and mended some this evening.

Sunday, July 20, 1919
A rainy morning. Has not rained so much to day. We all staid at home until after dinner.
Ben went to Mayhews. Jim went to Marvins. George Blair come this evening. I was so sorry that the boys was not at home.
Josie got dinner. She cooked corn & butter beans and made a pudding. We all enjoyed our dinner.
10 oclock
Heard tonight that Jack Harvey & Bob Booker got home this evening.
Sunday, July 27, 1919
A good day. Jim staid at home all day. Ben went to Long Island and brought Mary Brumfield home with him.
Lizzie Bennett and [I] went to Strait Stone to preaching. Earl Bennett carried us and brough us home. They had dinner on the ground and had a plenty for all hands. Ben carried Lizzie to Johnson Reynolds to night. Mary & Henry & Edna all went with him. They have not got back yet.
Josie got dinner at home. She cooked a chicken & butter beans and corn.
Marvin & all of his family were there at preaching & Ren and his family.

Tuesday September 20, 1921
A good day. Cloudy all day. Rain tonight. We need rain very bad. Jim & Ben finished cutting corn today. Josie washed. I wanted to help her but did not do much. Mabel was so cross and did not want to stay at the wash house. I come to the house and churned. Josie helped get dinner. I sewed on my quilt all evening and tonight. The children went to school. This evening Josie went to Marvins. She said Carrie was shelling butter beans and she helped her while she was there.
The tobacco markets opened to day. We heard that the tobacco solde very low. I was in hopes that good would sell well. Ben & Jim has not got any good.
Wednesday September 21, 1921
A good day. It is raining now. That is what we need.
Ben went to Mr Eanes's today to help cover a house. Jim shelled corn and got out wheat. Fixin to go to the mill in the morning.
The children went to school today. Josie starched her clothes and ironed some to day. I sewed on my quilt. I went to Marvins late this evening. Carrie was shelling butter beans. I shelled while I staid. Come home and fed the chickens and milked the cows. By the time a done that Josie had supper ready.
Ben & Jim went to Marvins to tie tobacco. I guess they will get wet comeing home.
