Julia Brumfield Diaries

A good day. Tim & Gordon & Lonnie went to Whittles to preaching. Lizzie & Alma and Frances and I staid at home. The preacher come with them from Whittles to dinner.

This evening Tim & Gordon & Lonnie & Lizzie and I went to Dr Meases to Lee Tenia and all the rest of them. They have a nice house. I was glad to get to go. There is a entertainment at Oak Grove church. I could of gone but did not want to go so Alma and Lonnie went.

Earl Bennett went to Renan this morning.

A good day. Ben carried Julia Brumfield to Long Island. All of the children went with him. They come by Jim Powers and Mrs Car come with them home.

Josie & I got dinner & was eating when they got here. I went to Carries a few minutes this evening.

Ben & Josie went to St Andrews to preaching. The preacher and his wife and dog come home with them. Josie done the best she could for them.

A good day. I got up and washed dishes and killed two chickens. Josie cut them up. The preacher & wife is very pleasant company. They went a way a bout 9 oclock this morning. Ben went to Gretna. Jim come with him back. Marvin bought the Dollie Hays place to day. Hope he may be satisfied with it.

Heard Ben & Jim tells a bout the awful rain that they had at Gretna and the damage that it done. I am sorry for them. That was nothing that people could help.

Denia Blair come here a little while this evening. I was glad to see her. I am going to see her soon if I keep able.

A good day. We all staid at home until after dinner then I went to Johnson Reynols. They were eating dinner. The preacher, Mr Keef and Mr Hankins, Jim Thomson & family, Posie Reynols and family.

Josie and Ben & the children went to Jim Thomsons then come to Reynols. They brought me home. Jim Brumfield staid home all day. I went by Marvins. They were all up and a bought.
