Cloudy most of the day but no rain yet. Ben & Jim stripped tobacco all day. Ben went to the store just at night. Charles Harvey come and staid a while. Marvin solde his car this morning.

Kate come this evening a few minutes. Carrie come and brought me some peas. I shelled them tonight. Mr. Owen did not come home from Boston to day.

Lee Brumfield went to Danville to day. Effie & Beaulah commenced teaching school to day.

A beautiful day. Jim got some feed for the cows. Went to Marvins and got two turkeys. They packed down some tobacco. I went to Lee Brumfields and spent the day. Oscar come after me.

Ben & Josie come up there this evening. I was so glad that they come as I could come home and not be any trouble to any one.

Jim & Henry staid at home. Grace had a good dinner. Beaula and her husband was there. They are lookin well. I hope that they will come to see us soon.

Marvin & family went to John Smiths. Hope they had a pleasant day.

Sunday March 27, 1921

A good day. Ben & family staid at home. Leslie Roark and Beaula & Elsie East & the children and Gladice & Hugh and Hildna all come a while this evening. We were all glad to see them. Emmet Brumfield come a while. Paul Smith went with him home. Ren Worsham carried a truck load to Gladice to day. I am so glad that he did it. Gave some of them pleasure I know.

Johnson Reynols come for me. Robert was driveing the car. I spent a pleasant day. Posie & family and Reubin was there.

Mollie had a nice dinner. I want to be thankful for all that is done for me.

Friday April 22, 1921

A cloudy windy day. Rain just at night. Jim and Ben worked all day at home. Josie ironed and got dinner.

I went to Long Island with Grace Brumfield. Reese Smith carried us. We fished all day and did not catch any thing. We eat dinner and supper at Mr Peaks. Mr and Mrs Peak was very nice to me and I am very glad for any kindness that is to me.

Mr Mayhew & Mr Irvin Lewis and his mother was fishing. Mr Less Rourks and Beaula brought us home. I hope I have not done any harm to any one to day. If so excuse me.

A good day. Ben went to meet Jim. Jim come from Chatham. The men that will put in the lights come today.

Marvin went to the island. He got his washing machine today. Carrie and the children and Edna went to Cedar Forest. I went with Johnson Reynolds to the island. Beaula and I fished. Did not catch any thing.

I eat dinner at Mr Peaks. They are all so good to me. I am ashamed to impose on them. I thanked Johnson for takeing me to the island. Got stuck in the mud between Marvins and the gray soil road. Marvin and Mr Hutcherson helped to push his truck out.
