Monday November 14, 1921
A rainy morning. Henry went to school. Edna staid at home. Jim & Ben helped Marvin load on his tobacco & he helped Ben load his. They intend going to Gretna in the morning. Josie made Edna some pettie coats & the baby some gowns. I got up at five this morning and got breakfast. Had beef steak. I milked the cow & fed all of the cows. Fed the chickens. Put on to boil some beef and potatoes and peas. Toasted some coffee and churned. Made bread and coffee and finished dinner. This evening I went to Marvins. Kate Harvey come to Marvins and come here a few minutes. Reese was to take her home but he was so late getting home I guess she was gone.

Sunday, January 29, 1922
A cloudy day most of the time. Snow melted some all day. We all staid at Home all day except Ben. He went to Mr Bookers a little while. Johnson Reynols come this morning and staid a while. I got dinner except the bread Josie made that. I killed and cooked a chicken and baked a molasses pudding. Josie washed the dishes after Dinner. I wrote Carrie a letter to day. Oh how I miss them. I would like so much to know how all of my children are getting on in this bad spell but cant know.
Saturday, March 25, 1922
A beautiful day. Ben & Jim worked on their tobacco land. Henry went to Renan. Josie and I ironed all the morning. Mrs Car churned. Josie got dinner in 30 minutes. She had caned sausage made a dewberry pie had caned tomatoes boiled 14 egg made bread and coffee. Kate Harvey come & Carrie and all children. I was glad to see all of them. Kate & I worked button holes. Kate brought some sallit.
Sunday, April 9, 1922
A good day. Cloudy but no rain. We all staid at home all day. Jim and Ben worked some in their fancy gardens. I got most of the dinner. Josie cleaned up the house and she made the bread for dinner. Jim Thomson & family come to see us. And Marvin & family all in the evening. I was glad to see them all. Doris & Jamie & Gladice Brumfield & Christina Reynols come a little while. They did not come in the house. They played with the children while they staid.
Friday, June 16, 1922
A good day we need rain bad. Ben & Jim plowed in the corn and Henry thinned corn all day.
Mrs. Car & Josie strung snaps Mrs. Trent & I scraped the potatos. I baked a pudding. This evening Mrs Hutcherson & Ada Hutcherson come and brought Josie some light rolls hot and some apples. Grace Vale come and picked berries. I went with them to the field.
Hattie bought four gallons of berries. There has bin the most dew berries that I ever saw.
I worked in Franklins foot this morning.
