Villers-au-Bois -- 1917 Feb 1 -- -- Battalion at Villers-au-Bois and Bijoli Line. Transport Lines at Petit. Servius - B & D. Co's move up to Bijoli Line and A and C Cos come out from Bijoli Line to Villers. Fifth Company paid by PM at Chateau. Very cold. -- RBOS

Villers-au-Bois -- 1917 Feb 2 -- -- A & C. Co's at Villers. Paid in afternoon. 5th Co. inspected by Gen. Nelson. German aeroplanes very active. Huns scored our own of our batteries. Very cold. -- RBOS

Villers-au-Bois -- 1917 Feb 3 -- -- A & C Cos at Villers. B & D Cos at Bijoli Line. Very cold, but sure gave warmth at noon. 38th meu?? Divisionional school paid. School still quaran-tined & new cases of measles & mumps had developed. -- RBOS

Villers-au-Bois -- 1917 Feb 4 -- -- A & C Co's at Villers. B. & D. Cos at Bijoli Line, making an extra day out. Very cold. Bright sun. -- RBOS

Villers-au-Bois -- 1917 Feb 5 -- -- Batt. moves up to trenches at Vimy Ridge. Bright & cold. Major Parkinson returned from leave. Had breakfast at Savoy Hotel, London and arrived in trenches at Vimy Ridge in time for dinner. The 38th the only batt. paid. Cold. -- RBOS

Trenches -- 1917 Feb 6 -- -- Batt. in trenches at Vimy Ridge. Artillery active. Bright & cold. British aeroplane compelled to alight in vicinity of Tramsport-Lines after fight with 2 Germans. -- RBOS
