The day before we left a vessel came in south [Turkish struck out] Mahommedan Colours Green with Crescent. Cassiagni has sent on board by the Capt. & haul it down. A wangabar to[ok] place in Akyab large numbers of fireworks Crackers &ce labyrinth 40 yard square with numberless winding formed of Baulboo the turn out. Common all over Burma Capt. & Mrs. Eales & other ladies out frighten with fireworks. passengers this time to Kyauk Phyoo Dr. Barlow Harper Capt. Leigh Morris. Called at Capt. Evans last night with Dibbs. Ripley & Evans came on board so soon after the "Sr" arrived. Ripley informed me that the Convict affair has been put before [Thomas struck through] the Leut. Govr. & an investigation is to take place.

In the evening Mr. & Mrs. Chapman & Morris[written below] Capt. & Mrs. Eales came of & 150 Natives as we are to start for Chittagong at daylight tomorrow.
Sunday Nov 21st. 1858
Left Akyab at 5.40 this morning for Chittagong. With a fine breeze the weather beautifully cool. went on deck at 5.45. 10 oclock passed oyster island. beautiful clear moonlit night went along about 10 miles distant from land. remained on the bridge with Bowen & O'Shanntsky[?] till 9 oclock. went to bed at 9.30. roused up right 11.30 to See Edith. have today read 2 chapters of Exodus the plagues of the Egyptians, & some home letters, Jessies Marys & Willies of June July & August.
Monday Nov. 22nd. 1858
Up at 5.30. went on the Bridge till 6.20. Still moving along in our course to Chittagong an appearance

of Sameness about the land. jungle covd' hills. at 12 oclock entered Chittagong river having taken a native pilot on board. land at the entrance to Chittagong river looks pretty native- like the furze covd. moors of Scotland A great many fishing huts staked along the margin of the water. 2 balls shewn at the flagstaff, one at the yard arm & one at the gaff & the red ensign at 2 oclock anchored in Chittagong river Mr. Fletcher Judge [underscored] Dr. Beatson & Mr. Kemp came on board & Capt. Elsher port captain. Capt. Mrs. Eales went on shore with Capt. Eales to take up quarter with him. Got up early before sunrise stayed on board all day nothing of importance occured today.
Thursday November 25th. 1858
Up at six. Morning very cold breakfast at 9 oclock went on shore after dinner & drove in Mr. Fletcher's Carriage with Kemp Bowen Cassaigne Morris to play cricket made three of 4 runs.

Hind. went on board with Morris & the Gunner in the Schooners boat about 4 oclock dined & went ashore to see the Capts. Child again Mr & Mrs. H called while I was there Mrs. E promised to post letters for me & requested one. went on bd. wrote two letters one for Barry enclosing treasury draft for 250 rupees. & one to Mrs. Knott. Madras in answer to last march one. One home & one to Fred also written this forenoon. Sent the 4 ashore to the Capt. between 9 & 10 oclock
Friday Decr. 3rd. 1858
Left this morning at daylight to convey Capt. Faithful Majuthat to the Naafe river. Anchored at 4 oclock. Weather close & Cloudy all day. Mr. Law went ashore in the jolly boat. No report as to the landing place. Boat did
