A clear cool day. Ben & Jim firmed up the garden this morning. Ben hauled wood this evening. Jim split wood in the woods. Clay Harvey come here a bout [day?] this morning on his way to Lynchburg. He got some gas from Ben. His had gave out. Josie ironed some and got dinner. Mrs Car had the sick headache. I put a quilt in the frames all by my self. We all quilted on it this evening. Mollie Reynolds come and helped us. I was glad that she come. Christenia come and went with her home.

A good day. Ben plowed some with a double plow. Jim plowed some in the garden. Norman Booker helped them some today. The children went to school all but Mabel and she cried most of the morning. Tonight she was good. Josie starched her clothes. I got a snack except make the bread. Josie done that. Josie milked this morning and tonight we both quilted some. Ben quilted some tonight. I have bin reading when I should of bin in bed. I am olde eneough to do better.

A good day. Ben plowed under rye. Jim plowed some in the garden and planted potatoes & onions. Josie and I finished the quilting. Josie milked. The cow kicked her and hurt her leg. Ben milked that cow tonight.

I finished two of Josies quilts this evening. Josie made Mable some drawers this evening. Mabel has cried a lot today. I think that something hurts her. Norman Booker traded horses today.

Three of the children went to school.

A very windy day and some rain. Lee and Oscar come and got two loads of corn stalks this morning. Ben finished plowing in the orchard today. Jim made a hot bed to day and worked in the garden half the day. The children went to school. Mabel has a bad colde and is so cross that we cant hardly stand her. Josie has sewed some today. I fixed some on my chicken coops and sewed on my quilt a little. I have wrote Carrie a letter to night. Now it is time that we was in bed.
