Ben and Owen plowed some. Josie baked a cake this morning.
Marvin Smith carried Reese and Henry and I to White Falls fishing. We did not catch anything.
Carrie and Marvin went to the Dr with Hazel this evening. He thinks that she has scarlet fever in a milde form. I hope she may soon be well.

Wednesday, April 24, 1918
A clear morning some rain tonight. Ben and Owen hauled in some feed. Owen plowed this evening.
Ben carried Josie and I to Cedar Forest. Josie went to see Mrs Powers. Ben & Henry and Edna and I went to the creek and fished.
Caught a few fish.
Ben got stalled and had to have help to get a way. Josie got dinner. I picked beans. Mr Farthings cows come here to day. Ben put them up. They got them this evening. Marvin worked on his fence to day.

Friday, May 3, 1918
A good day. Ben and Owen plowed some.
I got dinner. Had turnip salet for dinner the last that we will get this spring I expect.
We heard that the Edmons boys killed their dogs this morning.
I know they was sorry to have it to do.
I wrote to John Brumfield to day.

Saturday, May 4, 1918
A good day. Ben and Owen plowed most of the day. Josie got dinner.
Isla come over here this morning. I went [with] her to see Ben. We come by the plant beds and got a few cabbage plants.
We had early supper and all went to the school house. The Gretna folks come down and gave a play for the benefit of the Red Cross. There was a big crowd there.

Monday, May 6, 1918
A good day. Ben and Owen hauled manure this morning and plowed this evening.
Josie washed and got dinner. I went to Johnson Reynolds and eat dinner.
Rubin brought me home on their car. I thank them for every kindness shown to poor me. Paul Smith and Roy staid here some today with Henry and Edna. They have such good times.
