Josie got dinner. She baked a cake and fixed for supper at Stanton High School. They will be a play there to night by some of the Renan crowd.
Paul went a bout 2 in the evening. I hope that they may make good. The proceeds will go to the Red Cross.

Monday, July 1, 1918
Rain in the night. Clear to day and wind blowin. Josie got dinner. She cooked cabbage and potatoes made ice cream. Ben went to Strait Stone for the ice. Ben and Owen and Paul plowed in the corn finished laying by Bens and commenced on Owens. Josie went to see Nannie Reynolds and the baby. Went over to see Mollie and Jane.
Virginia and Delma Owen come this evening. The children and I chopped the grass out of the path this evening.

Wednesday, July 3, 1918
A good day. Ben and Paul plowed tobacco this morning. Ben plowed the sweet potatoes. This evening Ben mowed. Josie got dinner. I churned and worked some in the garden. Josie tried to find some black berries found enough for supper with cream.
Heard today that Posies baby is sick hope she may get well.
Mr Owen has bin sick to day. Hope he may be able to work by in the morning.

Thursday, July 4, 1918
A good day. Ben got up hay this evening. Ben and family and Paul Bennett went to Clover Bottom to a Red Cross meeting. It rained down there I wish it had of rained here.
Josie raked hay. I finished dinner.

Saturday, July 6, 1918
A good day. Ben worked on Tom Edmons's car most all day. Paul carried Denia Blair and I to Worshams pond. We come home for dinner. To night we went to the school house to see a play. Henry has bin sick all day.
