SUNDAY, MAY 4, 1941
Rex went to Bethelham this morning to help dig Mrs. Warner Slaton's grave. Rex went to the funeral this afternoon but as I felt so tired and worn out I decided to not go. I went to Mrs. Gipson's. Sis & Amelia came after the funeral and stayed until Rex got back from Pleasant View. Mother sent for him to come as she wanted to see him on some business. Mother said she felt better.

MONDAY, MAY 5, 1941
Alma came this morning and we worked in the kitchen. She done all the hardest work. She washed the windows, hung the curtains, swept & moped the floor and painted the floor. I am tired tonight. I still don't feel as well as usual.
