The causes of all miserys & sorrow,
is sin; & therefore it is time for us
to examine our ways, to humble
ourselves & to set upon a reformation:
I thought on my ways said David,
& turned my feet into they testimonies: when Manasses was in
affliction, he besought the Lord
his God, & humbled himself greatly
before the God of his Fathers; surely
it is sweet to be said unto God, "
I have borne chastisement, I
will not offend anymore;
that which I see not, teach thou
me; if I ahve done iniquity
I will do so no more: The
end of chastisement, is amendment
of life, whence it receives
the name of correction, which
signifieth, to set right or strait
