Status: Needs Review

We must not expect to see our God, always in one
dress. He sometimes may cloath himself with thick darkness
and call & us to adore & trust where we cannot see and comprehend.
At other times he will deck himself with light, as with a
garment, and ravish our souls, and delight out spiritual
sense with the refulgent rays of his infinite brightness!
But however he appears, let us remember, He is the same
God still; the same in his Being, the same in his love, even
the very same that he said unto us at the beginning. And
however various his ways are, they are all ways of Mercy
and Truth, of grace & peace unto us. They flow from love, are
managed by love, and will and in love, and by all he will
commend and confirm his free, unchangable and everlasting
Love.
Extractsm Lett: fm a Gen 1

Teach me O Lord! how to seek thee for even This
I cannot do without they guidance: nor can I find thee,
till thou art pleased in mercy to show thyself to to me.
let me so seek thee as to desire, and so desire as dilligently
to seek thee; so love as to find, and so find as entirely to
love thee —
