Tubes large, closely arranged;
rays strong; interspaces apparently
tubular. -- Differs from H. pyriformis
mainly in the size of the tubes, which
are comparatively closely arranged, &
much stronger; tubes striated or fluted
externally, corresponding to the number of
rays or lamellae.
