Am. Jour Sc 2nd Ser Vol 11 p 189 figs 1.+2

Polyparium hollow, well defined,
branching in a graceful racine,
much branched, branches mostly
on one side, never opposite, with
unilateral cells, each supporting
the next one above it; no solid
axis or stype. — To the naked eye
the cells appear [to be] closely [serrated,]
[illegible], not [illegible], transversely
serrated; but under a magnifying
glass they appear vaginated, hollow,
having a connection with a common
central tribe, conical, with point
of cone downward, sometimes
having a faint appearance of
[having] a [illegible] point on the
outer lip, and two longitudinal lateral
ribes extending from the base to the termianl border.
