Coral massive (or ramose?); interior
prismatic of basaltiform; cells contiguous,
openings upon the surface more or
less angular, and often very variable
in size; rays twelve or more, con=
=sisting of slender elongated and
ascending points; transverse septa
direct. - Near Favosites, but
more especially, Favistella, but
with spiniform rays instead of
lamellar.
