The members of the 500 Club
arranged for a dance in Goodnow
Hall in the evening.
A portion of the paper clippings
a (sic) follows:
"After watching the remains of
"his nibs" (the Kaiser) reduced to
ashes the crowd dispersed and went
to the Town Hall where a victory
dance was held. The dance was
gotten up on the spur of the moment
by the Jr. 500 Club. No admittance
was charged as the town furnished
the hall. The first number on
the program was a reading by
Miss Helen Smith which was beautifully
rendered and which was very fitting
for the occasion. The hall was
beautifully decorated with bunting
and flags, while hung from the
center of the stage was a very humorous
picture of the Kaiser riding a camel
underneath it said, "Good by Kaiser."
Miss Helen Hawkes and Mrs. Walter Ford
alternated playing the piano and
Lawrence Bolton played the violin.
The dancing lasted until twelve
and everyone went home happy.
