A fine colt 3 years old past was very
much admired and bid fair to make
an excellent horse for general utility.

On our return to the house we were
shown a very handsome chester pic that
our host purchased at the state fair,
which together with one other sow we were
informed, comprised the whole stock of
hogs on hand, and their offspring would
be the dependence for next years pork, and
as the farm is generally productive they will
doubtless do their part.

After returning to the house and reading
the minutes of the last meeting and partaking
of a bountiful supper the following questions
were asked and answered.

Ques. 1st What is it worth to winter cattle
on straw and fodder
Ans. 3 say $1.50, 6 say $2.00, 3 $3.00 2 $3.50 average $2.32

2ndCan a milk cow be kept on wheat straw
Ans Twas thought they might live on it but
it would not be econemy to keep the that
way, young cattle might do on it.

3rd Which is best, to cut straw and make
chop of it or feed it long and the meal dry.
Ans 9 would feed long 4 would cut
4th To have a wagon made for farm use and
turnpike, would you have it broad or narrow tread.
Ans 10 would have broad, 1, 2 1/2 in. & 1 narrow tread
