"The Club" met at "Harewood" September 22nd 1871
Cider all round!' 5 Members absent 4 guests.
Commenced business too late, but walked all around the
cultivated part of the farm. First noticed a Percheron colt
in rather bad condition, next passed over a field that had
been cut four years, but run out now, & succeeded by
Cinquefoil We then passed over two other fields in very
fine condition, & clear of stone, one member discovered
a flint stone where it ought not to be, & religiously put
it in the fence corner.
We next examined the colts, some in fine condition, & of
good size for their age, the young ones evidently receiving
most care. Cattle, Calves, &c, in very fine condition. The
corn was very good & Land showed that it had been well Worked
noticed the farm road encroaching upon the field, would
recommend working the road.
Next passed to the "Brick Kiln" which evidently absorbs
much time & attention would recommend members to encourage
our hosts making tile by purchasing them and trying to
experiment at least.
The orchard needs attention badly fruit wasting
ques. lst How to cure chicken Colera?
various answers given, none very satisfactory
Chicken bone recommended to be burned & put over
a door.
