Sloppy roads aside, the travelling slow,
slow travelling made the members late
in coming. Late attendance made us
late in getting to work. JJ my duty as
Secretary includes the pleasant office of
"critic", I will say we might do far better
in this particular of punctuality.

There were several members absent, two guests.
After having read the minutes
of the last meeting held here, we took
a walk over the premises. We first
saw the pigs which were very good,
Our host has redeemed himself from
the aspersions of this Hon body upon this
subject. Some of the cattle were kept
in the yard, and some in the field.
They all appeared to be doing well;
as indeed they should, for they seemed
to have an abundance to eat.

The colts wintering in the field with
a hay stack for a base of supplies, &
with the whole canopy of the heavens
for a shelter - were thriving. If there is
economy in feed when colts are stabled,
are not the risk from accident, and
the trouble, great enough to leave a balance in
favor of leaving them out.
