The club met at Belmont. Fred Stabler
& W S Brooke being absent & we had as
guests J T Moore [?] L Stabler W Lea Jr, Jos Thomas
William & John Thomas.

After reading the minutes of the last
meeting here we went on our round
with T J Lea as foreman.

We were first called to examine some
samples of corn raised by members of
the club. We next went to examine a
new ice pond, being made, and on the
way examined somie cattle lately purchased,
returning we went through the barn & to
the hog pen, approaching [ninted?] led us
to examine a fine new ice house which
looked well built & convenient for filling
and using from.

Our old acquaintance the school house
is doing a good service as covering to a
potatoe cellar & being used as a
work shop. We noticed a good improvement
in the new kitchen & [poarch?], part of
which serve as covering to the ice house.

Upon retiring to the house the following
questions were asked & answered.

E P Thomas reported that he had seen
2 of the council of Washington city on
the potatoe question, and they say,
no change is wanted in the law, if
the potatoes are weighted at home or in
