Club met at the house of B. H. Miller, there was a large attendance W S Bond being the only member absent. A fair sprinkling of Guests
were present, and we had an unusually pleasant evening. R M Stabler was appointed foreman & P Thomas Sec in place of the
absentee.
While circumambullating the farm a new horse block first
met our gaze; then a fine Percheron stallion exhibited by
Samuel Hopkins; fortunately this beautiful animal was standing
between the audience and a pair of twin gates, minus hinges, &
latches, and bereft of several bars, the like of which our
members have seen twice before in the same position, but no
where else, and the sec hopes they will be used for
kindling before the club meets there again. Perhaps our host
has become attached to these gates and they to each other and
he does not like to separate them or replace them with a new one.
We next looked at idle milk cows, whioh looked well, though
not so fine as our host uaually keeps. His stock cattle were
being wintered out; that either, does or does not speak well for
his management. We passed judgement on a fine young mare
lately purchased
