We met at Edgewood where all of our
members were present except W. W. Moore
Saml Hopkins W. S. Brooke & T. J. Lea.
We had as guests the Hon C. Delano
& R. H. Miller Jr. In accordance with
the regulations of the society A. M. Stabler
acted as foreman, & in the absence of the
Sec. B. H. Miller was called to that position
On account of the extreme heat we were
rather late getting
together & were indisposed to
make a very extended tour of the premises.
Confining our observations to the peach orchard
and the quality of its fruit & to a mole trap
which we were told was a success.
Upon returning to the house we did full justice
to an excellent supper beneath the trees, & our
hearts were made glad toward the end of the
repast by the prospect of being driven in by an
approaching thunder storm, but as upon other
occasions recently we were doomed to disappointment,
the cloud passed around & gave our
neighbors to the South a good wetting.
After tea the following questions were asked
1st When is clover seed ripe enough to cut?
Ans When most of the pods are brown.
2d What will cure sore feet in cattle?
Ans Blue Stone & Lard.
3d Will it pay to fix up a machine to cut five acres clover
seed?
Ans Yes.
