Feb 20th 1869

The club met at WW Moores all
the members present, we had as guests
W.J. Thomas, Wm Lea Jas.T.Moore Jas. B
Gilpin & WmThomas, our new secretary
failing to bring the book we started on our usual
round without reading the minutes of the
last meeting held here. The first object of note
was some very good hogs in a substantial pen.
There seemed to be very few cattle on hand, they
all looked well, we observed some colts one of
which was very badly knuckled so much so that
many of our members thought it could not get well,
We were shown some wheat the part on a clover
sod very much better than the oats Stuble in
the same feild. We then adjourned to the house
where the following subjects were discussed,

1st What to do with my last years wheat stable?
Ans Rub down when covered with sleet.

2nd What is the best plan of building for Cow Stable?
Ans We did not gain much information.

3 rd How deep to plow corn ground?
Ans Some say shallow is the best for corn, others
as deep as you can turning up some clay

4th What shall I do with my steers break them
or buy oxen?
Ans Some of our members say break them
others do not think it will pay.-
