C. & W. went in the
buggy to Junghau's. Chas
Stabler's & W Lea's driving
the brown mare. before dinner.
Lizzie Scott sent the boy
again to have his foot dressed
W. took the spring wagon to
Ashton & brought up some
things from the house Nelly
is leaving & towards evening
he went down in the buggy and
brought her & the cat back
with him. Charley went down
before breakfast & saw Miss
Cooney & her sister off in the
stage. I went in to see Bessie
Robison at supper time Annie
Gilpin brought her sister Louisa
down for advice etc.
Nelly has definitely given
up the house at Ashton

Thunder this morning
about day light & warm &
"close" all day. A T Fairall
Esq was here for me to go to
W^m Moore's before I was down
stairs after breakfast I took
C with me & went over to examine
the corpse of a colored
man who was found
dead in bed with a 38. cal:
pistol shot in his forehead.
Willie was also summoned
& an inquest held which gave
as their verdict "suicide".
home to dinner. Afternoon
Lizzie Iddings came & took
Nelly & Frank home with
her to spend the night.
after supper Charley & Willie
drove down to W^m Lea's
Edwd came downstairs this
afternoon & also to supper;
he seems much better but weak
& pale.
