JULY FRIDAY 15th 1887.

Frances Johnson was
here for advice etc, before I
was up. Wm S Bonds folks
were here for me to go & see
him. I drove down to Wm S
Bond's taking Edwd with me
Had shoes put on Fritz, on his
"game foot behind." Lizzie
Franklin & her daughter were
here for advice etc. for the
latters eyes. Charley struck
and fractured his right knee
pan or "patella" with the
poll of an ax. completely
"laying himself up" for some
time to come. Arthur
Stabler's team hauled us
a load of good hay "from
the field" Mr Charles
Prettymore called to see
us "Electioneering" for the
office of County Attorney.
I drove over & bandaged old
Caleb Pumphrey's legs in the
afternoon.

JULY SATURDAY 16th 1887.

This has been the "hottest"
day we have had this summer
so far. The thermometer registered
96° in the front porch (in the shade)
at 12.o'clock noon. I drove to
Wm S Bond's and to E. Leizear's
taking Edwd & "Phil" with me.
I also was called in and prescribed
for W.H. Ent. who is
suffering from "rheumatic gout."
Willie came home about 8.o'clk
this a.m, just as Ed Gilpin was to
go after him. Ernest drove the colts
down to his buggy & leaving them here
took the mare & chaise & drove
down to Canby's & brought Miss F Rust
here & taking the buggy again went home
with her. W went after dinner with
E Gilpin to "Highland" to a "baseball"
& was to come home via Riverside and
have a swim there.
