JULY, SATURDAY 9th 1887.

Rain until about 9.am.
& showers more or less all
day. Charley & Willie set
out 250 celery plants that
Jas Murry brought. three
different kinds "Seymore's
Monmouth, "Little Giants" and
"Henderson's self bleaching"
Mrs Jim Bryant was here
for advice & medicine.
After supper I drove down to
Ashton for some rock salt
for the horses & was called in
to see Mrs Schooley's infant,
after my return Charley drove
down again to take some ice
for the infant. Dora went with
him. Wesley Johnson was here
for advice & medicine after I
had gone up stairs to retire, but
before C.&D returned from
Ashton.

JULY, SUNDAY 10th 1887.

Clear with fine breeze
from N.W. I drove down to
the "bone mill" to see Mrs J
Owings after which Charley
took his mother, sister and
Edward in the carriage
with both horses to "Elton"
Willie going on the bicycle
leaving me alone to "keep
house" Robt Stablers daughter
called to see Charley about
an entertainment at the
Lyceum. Bro Richard called
on his way to meeting. Walter
Scott called for some pills
for his mother. "The folks"
came home about 3-30 pm
having found the Elton house
vacant except the "colored
people" Ernest & Minnie having
gone away to spend the day
at Mr Wm Canby's, they called
however on there way home, but
did not get out of their buggy as
it was "dusk" before they left
here & it would be 10.o'clk before they
would reach home.
