JULY THURSDAY 7th 1887

Sarah Stone called &
left a clock for Charley to
"oil" for her early this morning.
today has been very
warm or hot. I was about
home all day. Charley came
home about supper time.
R Roland Moore & wife called
the latter to consult me
& the former to see Charley
about a "hay tedder."

JULY, FRIDAY 8th, 1887.

I took Harriet with me
& drove to Elijah Lezear's and
on to Thos Lea's to bid sister
B "good bye" she expecting to go
to Lawrence Mass: leaving
home tomorrow with Richard
Iddings; we also called at
Homewood & at Ashton both
going & returning. Chas Stabler's
mare brought us a horsecart
load of hay. (good hay)
It's still very hot weather
After supper Charley drove over
to the river taking "Haslup" with
him "to have a swim." Willie
came home from Elton in
time to get his supper. the
hot weather and sun having
been "too much for him," and
"used him up" for the present.
