64 Rain & Showers Variable
JULY, TUESDAY 5th 1887.

Rained quite hard last
night but no thunder or
lightning and continued
showery this morning.
Roads are quite muddy.
I feel rather better but
still am sore & painful:
fear I have absorbed
some "malaria" during my
trip from home, showers at
intervals all the forenoon.
Charley came home about
4.o'clk p.m. from Elton,
having brought Minnie down
to Riverside in the buggy
Ernest coming along in his market
wagon to cut grass for his
father tomorrow

JULY, WEDNESDAY 6th 1887.

I took Dora & little "Bessie"
down to Ashton & had a shoe
fastened on Fritz & leaving "Bessie"
at her mother's took Dora
on to Thos Lea's where I left
her & drove over to Riverside
finding Fred, Ernest & Minnie
there. I (with Fred's assistance)
thoroughly cleaned R R Moore's
"cat & rat" rifle of rust inside
the barrel: shot a red
squirrel (with C's gun) and
dined there, after which
I came on to ElijahLeizear's
& called to see Mrs L and
home. It commenced raining
in showers about 3 p.m and
was very threatning until about
sundown when it seemed to clear
off. After supper Charley drove
over & brought his sister home
& then rode "Kit" over to Riverside
intending to drive Minnie home
using the Riverside buggy.
Annie Thorn called &paid me
