61 Cloudy. S.E.
June, Wednesday 1st 1887

Was called up again
last night & walked
down to Ashton through
a heavy rain, and
prescribed for J Douglas
Miller who is attacked
with dysenteric symptoms.
I feel very stiff & sore
this morning drove
down to Ashton to see
J D Miller & get some
groceries etc. After getting
home was sent for and
drove over to Elizabeth
Leizear's. Home to dinner.
After dark William Butler
called & paid me $ 2.00.
I walked up to the store for
a lamp chimney & spool cotton
after dark. It looks like
another "thunder gust"

63 Cloudy Variable
June, Thursday 2nd 1887

Rained hard about six
o'clock this morning and
continued for an hour.
Wm S Bond & wife were
here for advice & medicine
for the latter. I drove down
to Ashton taking W with
me where I hired Bulwar's
horse & sent W to "Elton"
to get Charles to come home
and attend to the various
calls for him here. Thos. L
Moore & Nick Johnson
were here to see Charley.
Afternoon I drove again
to Ashton for some articles
taking E with me & brought
little Bessie home with
us. Heavy storm passed to
the north of us, we getting much
less of it than they had above
Brighter, we had quite enough
of it however. Charley & Will
came home about dark.
