Rainy early in the morning
Willie did not go to school
but took C down to store
& drove me over to Scott's.
Rained all the afternoon
& evening. Some lightning
& thunder. Walked up to
the mill & weighed 14.7
Edwd 50 1/2 lbs.

Ther. Fri. Oct.30, 1885 Wea.

It rained hard all
through last night. and
continued at intervals
today. I drove to Walter
Scotts. Someone broke
the pump handle last night
and I substituted the
cast iron handle belonging
to the "force pump"
Henson Johnson here after
me, but I declined to go.
Miss Lizzie Scott called
to see me about Walter.
Had a "cozy" evening at
home around the cheerful
open fire in the
parlor grate.
