Sarah Stabler called
to see me about her cook.
(Annie Hill). Afternoon
Geo Grisby called and
paid me $3.00 on account
I drove down for Charley
towards night. let the
dog loose for a run
for the first time since
I had her. After supper
I walked up to Sandy Spring
and procured & mailed "money
order (for Two Dollars) to N.F.
Taylor. 530 Tremont St Boston
Mass. Harriet & Dora put
down carpet &c. in the
room at head of the stairs.
45. Cloudy & Rain. N.W.
Ther. Thurs. Oct. 8, 1885 Wea.
Willie drove the little gray
horse to the buggy to school.
It rained & "drizzled" nearly
all day. Jno: Johasen (colored)
here before dinner & dined
here & drove Charley down
to Ashton in the carriage.
Harriet & Dora put down
the carpet in the parlor, I
put up stove in our room.
& changed the bell on the
front door also the "dead
latch". & took down the
"screen door" from dining
room into the hall.
Philip T Stabler's team hauled
us a cord of pine wood, it being
the first load of the five cords Charley
ordered from him at $2.25 pr cord. It
came just before dark.
