Ther. Sat. MARCH 7th, 1885 Wea.

Snow fell to about 2 inches
in depth early in the morning.
Continued dull and
cloudy & threatening all day
I burned out the East
chimney before dinner.
William Wright called
and paid his bill. John
took the spring wagon
after Charley at noon
& brought some lime and
a barrel to slake it in to
make "lime water" for the
black horse "Jumbo". After
dinner I drove to Ashton and
had "cap" made & urn fixed
for dining room "Franklin stove".
Frank Leizear here for advice &
medicine for his wife.

Ther. Sun. March 8th, 1885 Wea.

Mr S Bond called to report
his son Chas: as being
better. I rode the roan
mare over to Josiah Bowen's
before dinner. Afternoon
Richard and Hallie Lea called
& spent an hour or two with
us. Towards evening Charley
rode over to "Riverton" to call
upon some ladies from Alexandria,
Va After tea Frank
Snowden called.
