Willie drove to school in the
sulkey. I went to Ashton
in the sleigh, brought C home
to dinner & took him down
again taking "Nelly" also to
do some "shopping". Willie & I
went afternoon & had our
hair cut at "Fletch" Clarks
Singleton Mitchell here for
advice & med for J Bowen.
After tea Frank Snowden
C Haslup & Ed. Chalfant
came to play whist.
I recd patent twist
self registering fever thermometer,
from C Lentz Phila.

Thr. Fri. Feb. 20th, 1885 Wea.

Very cold the wind blowing
strong from N.W. P.J. Stabler's
team brought us 1 1/2 cords
of oak wood. The sleighing
continues tolerably good,
there being very little snow,
but roads covered with
ice. I walked up to Sandy
Spring Store for coal oil &c
I "tinkered at squirrel
cage" &c.
